Across the millennia, when Aboriginal peoples sought to cross their homeland borders into neighboring lands, they sent a message stick seeking permission, guidance and safe passage of their spiritual beings to the adjacent tribes. And they were welcomed to Country.

“When travelling through someone else’s Country . . . I’m always thinking about their spirits, their particular language spirits, and I have to learn to adjust to adapt to the protocol of that land.”
